WATAN medical services cover hard-to-reach areas
WATAN’s mobile clinic is one of the most important services provided in WATAN Center 3 in Idlib, which provides medical consultations and free treatment in areas far from the city center. The mobile clinic’s services were recently transferred to the Karakat camp compound in Killi village due to the lack of medical services for the area’s estimated number of more than 4000 families.
The mobile medical team consists of a doctor, a nurse and a reception worker that make daily visits to the site to provide medical services. WATAN, through this mobile team, seeks to provide health services to the beneficiaries, in difficult-to-reach camps. The clinic provided health services to more than 2200 beneficiaries, providing about 3000 medical examinations and providing the necessary drugs for treatment. In January, more than 400 medical examinations were provided.
The mobile medical clinic is part of a project implemented by WATAN in partnership with NORWAC, which is concerned with providing primary and secondary health care services through four health centers distributed in northern Syria : WATAN Centre 1 (Azaz Center), WATAN Center 2 (Marea), WATAN Center 3 (Idlib City), and Hospital Hope (Salqin).
