Confronting the challenges of in-person learning in 12 sites in Idlib
In the second month of the second phase of the project "Providing safe and equitable access to formal and informal education in northwestern Syria", the schools of Idlib, Taftanaz, Binnish, Qah, Atma Camps, Tal Al-Karama, Al-Dana, Kelly, Salou, Kafr Lusine, Hazra, and Bab Al-Hawa have resumed in-person education services after more than six months of distance education. The classrooms and administrative rooms are sterilized twice a day. The project is supported by UNICEF and is in partnership with Takaful Al-Sham Charity.
The project provided enrollment education services to 2340 displaced students in the camps, 1102 of which were female. 21 workers were trained in the field of psychological support, including 8 females, on identifying cases that need help and case management.
81 teachers obtained the necessary stationery, which helps them provide their lessons in an optimal manner. Nine complaint boxes were installed in nine schools, with posters explaining the method and mechanism for submitting complaints.
Watan teams distributed prevention and protection materials for Covid-19 (masks, goggles, and gloves) to provide a clean and sterile environment for students.
