A key strategic goal is to diversify resources for growth, securing sustainable income, and strengthening strategic partnerships. In pursuit of this objective, WATAN is recruiting a Chief Revenue Officer. Reporting directly to the CEO and serving in the Executive Leadership Team, the successful candidate will focus on five key areas

Position Requirements

    Requirements for the Growth and Development Manager:

    Education:

    • Educated to degree level, with bachelors or higher (essential).
    • High understanding and knowledge about the institutional donors (USAID, EU, ECHO, FCDO), and funding cycles mechanism.
    • Qualification in Leadership/Management (desirable but not essential).
    • Qualification in fundraising (desirable but not essential).
    • In-depth current knowledge of institutional donors , corporate partnerships, income generation, and marketing in the humanitarian sector.
    • Experience in multiple crises and global missions to deal with the expansion and growth of WATAN globally

    Experience:

    • 5 to 7 years’ experience in a similar role.
    • Proven strategic, commercial, and operational approach to leading a fundraising/revenue function, including line managing numerous people.
    • Creative income generation activities within and outside of traditional community fundraising.
    • Proven business development success with securing new partnerships and opportunities.

    Skills:

    • Resilience and the ability to deal with high pressure and difficult situations.
    • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
    • Ability to think strategically and plan ahead.
    • Excellent planning and project management approach.

    Languages:

    • Strong written and spoken English essential.

Responsibility

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    1. Large Donor Funding and Strategic Programs:
    • Develop and execute a fundraising strategy, building WATAN's brand among big institutional donors’ community (for instance; BHA-USAID, EU, ECHO, FCDO) and effectively communicating it to internal and external audiences.
    • Lead, build, and evolve the fundraising team to diversify WATAN’s found sources and ensuring awarding from direct institutional donors.
    • Develop fundraising plans and calendars, oversee the execution of all fundraising activities, and continuously evaluate and improve fundraising practices.
    1. Privet Sector Approach:
    • Set up and lead the corporate partnership unit to attract and maximize income generation opportunities from corporate partnerships, grant-making sources.
    • Oversee and manage long-term relationships with partners, forging new business opportunities.
    1. New and Emerging Markets:
    • Play a leading role in the development of current international fundraising offices.
    • Identify potential emerging countries for WATAN to enter and present to the board of trustees.
    • Provide strategic and operational plans for setting up new international offices.
    • Lead role in developing strategy of the organization and implement the strategic direction of the board.
    1. Marketing:
    • Build WATAN’s external fundraising profile and position it effectively as an impactful, trustworthy, and efficient charity of choice for donors.
    • Oversee key stakeholders to build our new website, with a specific focus on increasing income generation.
    • Work closely with the Marketing & Communications team to integrate an income generation focus into marketing & communications plans and campaigns.
    1. Product Management and Project Database Management:
    • Develop detailed documentation for all WATAN services, outlining key features, functionalities, and technical specifications.
    • Ensure that the documentation is user-friendly, accessible, and regularly updated to reflect any changes or enhancements to the products.
    • Ensure all WATAN’s products are in line with WATAN strategy and ready to adjust responding to different intervention areas.
    • Ensure all technical references and budgeting calculations to implement all products are timely available.
    • Design and implement a centralized project database management system for tracking and monitoring ongoing and upcoming projects.
    • Define data structures and entry protocols to ensure consistency and accuracy in project information.
    • Train team members on the use of the database system and establish protocols for regular data updates and backups.
    1. Overseeing the Big Management Function:
    • Collaborate with key stakeholders to incorporate diverse perspectives and ensure a unified strategic vision.
    • Formulate and refine the organizational strategy, ensuring alignment with overarching business goals.
    • Establish and enforce a governance framework that aligns with the organizational strategy.
    • Collaborate with department heads to ensure effective utilization of resources in alignment with the overall organizational strategy.

    Other Responsibilities:

    • Drive integration and alignment between all revenue-related functions.
    • Ensure relevant policies and procedures are developed and followed, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
