Job Summary

    WATAN Foundation in Turkey, together with its partners, is providing humanitarian assistance to people affected by the Syrian crisis, both in Syria and Turkey.

    Managed by the Program Manager and working in collaboration with other members of the technical staff, the FSL Project Officer will be responsible for planning and overseeing the effective implementation of case management activities and will act as the focal point for all case management team, providing administrative support and managing their queries.

    The position will be based in (Gaziantep), with regular travel to field locations in (Urfa, Kilis, Mersin, Izmir, and Ankara) in Turkey.

Position Requirements

    • Very good spoken and written English & Turkish is assest.
    • A team player, eager to learn new skills.
    • At least 3 years of work experience with a minimum of two years working for a humanitarian NGO.
    • Experience in implementing FSL- CVA activities.
    • Experience in NGO procurement procedures.
    • Understanding of protection principles and related interventions.
    • Strong planning, interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Strong report writing and documentation skills.
    • Successful line management experience.
    • Very good computer skills, especially in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibility

    • The FSL Project officer is responsible for the management and coordinates the assigned FSL project mainly the CVA activities to meet the project objectives within budget and allotted time frame.
    • Successful delivery of the whole of the proposed change, coordination of the project and management of its interdependencies.
    • Planning and designing the project and proactively monitoring its progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action defining the project's governance arrangements ensuring effective quality assurance and the overall integrity of the CVA project focusing inwardly on the internal consistency of the project, and outwardly on its coherence with infrastructure planning, interfaces with other projects and corporate, technical and specialist standards.
    • He/she will be in charge of the over-arching supervision of this project as well as device internal coordination with the project staff and local communities.
    • He/she will provide support and organize training on reporting, donor’s regulations, project management framework, etc.
    • Supervise the implementation of the FSL project and activities in a daily manner. This includes directing activities, avoiding mistakes, and receiving and submitting projects reports.
    • Prepare, develop and review the reports to be submitted to donors. These could include daily, weekly, quarterly, progress and final reports.
    • Lead the field team and follow up on the implementation of activities with them.
    • Ensure that registered cases are recorded in the case management database in a timely fashion.
    • Oversee Case Management Officers’ scheduling of rapid and detailed case process each week, according to urgency and caseload.
    • Ensure that rapid and detailed cases are implemented per schedules, in line with agreed standard operating procedures and using agreed tools/forms.
    • Ensure that high-quality case summaries are produced by the case management team in time for presentation at weekly Case Committee meetings.
    • Advise case management staff in relation to decision making on case intervention plan development.
    • Review case summaries with Case Management team before Case Committee meetings.
    • Ensure that decisions of the Case Committee are properly recorded by the case management team in hard copy files and in the case management database in a timely fashion.
    • Support the Case management team to liaise with the Logistics team.
    • Ensure that all documentation is completed to a high standard.
    • Participate in the organization of regular capacity building of the protection teams.
    • Ensure that case management staff, refugee and host communities are able to provide feedback for improving the quality of activities.
    • Regular update service mapping across all case management operation areas.
    • Continuously liaise with other service providers to support Case Management Officers to facilitate referrals.
    • Network and liaises with other case management actors and service providers to build and maintain relationship and information flow.
    • write regular reports and give presentations of various types, including creating income and expenditure reports.
    • Ensure that protection activities are compliant with WATAN accountability principles and protection and case management principles.
    • Ensure that all case management information is thoroughly documented, with due consideration of confidentiality and data protection principles.
    • Ensure that each case management team submits weekly and monthly reports achievements.
    • Any other duties as agreed with the Line Manager.
