Job Summary

    The doctor will be responsible for providing medical consultations to the doctors, nurses working in thalassemia treatment centers, reviewing patient records, and giving appropriate recommendations for each case.

Position Requirements

    • Completed program in Pediatrics, hematology and oncology specialties
    • Minimum of 5 years of work experience as a specialized physician in a hospital, preferably with direct supervision on department’s physicians (Specialized / Resident physicians).
    • Arabic is must, English is preferable
    • Working under pressure.
    • Team management and working.
    • Time management.
    • Very good in Word and Excel

Responsibility

    Planning:

    • Contribute to policies and SOPs development, if required, only according to their field of specialization.

    Implementation:

    • The contribution mainly to develop the capabilities of health personnel, especially physicians working in Thalassemia treatment specialized centers inside Syria (specialist - resident - general practitioner) on the evaluation and treatment protocols for thalassemia patients through:
    • Assisting the treating physicians within the targeted facilities in applying the criteria for classifying cases and identifying cases that need advanced medical services or instructions regarding modifying the treatment plan and doses and investigating complications based on clinical laboratory findings and radiological investigations
    • Work in coordination with the treating physician to take the decision to implement the necessary medical interventions and investigations on a routine or necessary basis, according to the case
    • Follow-up the cases of registered patients, including their analysis and treatment periodically, writing notes to the supervising doctor, discussing, and directing them according to the case
    • Directing the treating physicians to adjust the doses of medications in patients according to what the situation requires
    • Ensure the quality of recording patients’ follow-ups and other data in their records.
    • Submit statistical reports periodically as agreed with the project management
    • Conducting discussion sessions for doctors working in thalassemia treatment centers via Zoom platform, through which topics related to thalassemia are discussed periodically.
