Job Summary

    MEAL team leader is responsible to coordinate with projects’ staff in the implementation of MEAL plan according to program requirements. The position requires an in depth understanding of the various monitoring and evaluation needs of Humanitarian programming. She/he will work closely alongside with program staff to support program quality and transparency by identifying issues, challenges, and gaps to be responded in time. Also, s/he will work closely with volunteers and Gaziantep-based MEAL team and Program teams.

Position Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in business management, information management, social statistics, MA degree is preferable.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead the team.
    • Good organizational and time management skills.
    • Knowledge & Skills Logical and analytical abilities.
    • Demonstrated ability to transfer knowledge through informal and formal training.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
    • Demonstrated ability in the use of quantitative and qualitative methods including questionnaire design, survey techniques and participatory approaches.
    • Computer proficiency in word processing, Power Point, database, spread sheet and graphics presentations (including one or more of the following programs: Excel, Access Epi Info, SPSS,),
    • Confident communicator, able to command respect from a wide range of people
    • Excellent oral and written communication and time management skills
    • Team player.
    • Ability to handle multi tasks at the same time.
    • Analytical thinker with good attention to detail
    • Demonstrated experience working in M&E capacity.
    • Good administrative skills, planning, reporting, monitoring and evaluation skills
    • Able to work under pressure 
    • Works well in teamwork, flexible and able to handle pressure well.

Responsibility

    • Design MEAL plan for different projects
    • supervise regular data collection and ensure quality of the data by random verifications and validations.
    • Ensure that project outputs and outcomes are monitored regularly, and findings are provided to the management team
    • develop project monitoring tools and templates including questionnaires, FGDs, etc. that will provide information about project progress towards targets.
    • Ensure that quantitative and qualitative data is collected and recorded in WATAN server.
    • Data analysis and report writing
    • Collect, verify and archive project M&E tools and supportive documents as project evidence and for audit observation purposes.
    • Build the capacity of field staff
    • Coordinate with programs and MEAL staff to ensure that the complaints system and all its activities are conducted within the project period and all beneficiaries are able to send their complaint and aware about the project selection criteria.
    • Any other duties suitable to task and commensurate with ability.
    • Participate in the M&E Data verification process correctly according to protocols
    • Observe whether M&E instruments are being administered correctly, and determine that data handling protocols are being followed.
