WATAN Foundation, together with its partners, is providing humanitarian assistance to people affected by the Syrian crisis, both in Syria and Turkey.

This position is managed by the Project Manager. S / he is responsible for providing verbal and written translation and will deal with beneficiaries directly to support them through translations between Turkish and Arabic languages.

• University degree or equivalent qualification in Turkish and Arabic, interpretation or related fields.
• 2 years of experience in Turkish-Arabic translation or teaching.
•  Previous professional experience in translation would be a plus.  
• Capable to prepare clear and comprehensive reports in Arabic and Turkish.
• Excellent organisational and multi-tasking skills.
• Flexibility and ability to handle pressure.
• Intercultural skills.

• Work closely with the LINK team, to provide translating between Turkish and Arabic of each parties in the consultation or conversation.
• Ensure that all words and sentences are well communicated.
• Provide Arabic/ Turkish oral translation to beneficiaries when accompany them in hospitals and governmental facilities.
• Translate from Arabic to Turkish and vice versa program reports, work plans, brochures, surveys and any other related documents in clear and professional manner.
• Assist in translating/rephrasing documents from Arabic to Turkish and vice versa in high quality.
• Translate from Arabic to Turkish and vice versa all feedback on reports and other deliverables and make sure the accuracy of meaning, grammar and syntax.
• Provide oral translation to program staff during meetings, workshops and professional conversation.
• Assist with any additional tasks required by management.
