Job Summary

    Working in collaboration with other members of the technical and field staff, the Field Assistant will be responsible for planning and implementing voucher and distribution activities to ensure smooth processes, and that the project meets the needs and satisfaction of beneficiaries. This will be based on needs identified through assessments and recommendations made by the beneficiaries, local authorities, and stakeholders. 

Position Requirements

    • University degree - preferably in Social Sciences 
    • At least one-year experience in a similar job
    • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    • Good understanding of project monitoring and evaluation
    • Proficiency in using email applications
    • Previous experience in working with NGOs
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Ability to work under pressure
    • Creativity and ability to develop and improve work
    • Knowledge and compliance with humanitarian standards

Responsibility

     

    • Assessment, identification, registration, and verification of beneficiaries 
    • Participate in the implementation of assessments 
    • Ensure that beneficiaries are selected based on agreed criteria and are registered according to the procedure 
    • With the Field team and MEAL team, ensure that adequate and accurate records of information on beneficiaries are made and undertake regular data entry work as required 
    • Planning, implementing and reporting on activities 
    • Assist the Project Coordinator and the Project Manager to schedule and plan the distribution of activities 
    • Follow agreed standard operating procedures for distributions and follow-up activities 
    • Ensure that monitoring and accountability procedures are followed 
    • Keep accurate records of distributions
    • Participate in regular electronic data entry of distribution records 
    • Provide timely, transparent reports on distribution activities to the Project Coordinator 
    • Support the Project Coordinator by communicating and liaising with local partners (where relevant) to ensure that activities are implemented in a timely manner and follow agreed procedures
    • Regularly communicate with communities, partner organizations, and stakeholders regarding activities 
    • Support the Field Team in communication with the refugee community, host community, and partner organizations
    • Assist the Project Coordinator to ensure that WATAN’s principles are clearly communicated and understood by all stakeholders in the field and that a fair and transparent beneficiary selection process is established and shared widely
    • Contribute to the high-quality implementation of WATAN’s response 
    • Assist the Monitoring & Accountability Assistant and MEAL Coordinator with regular monitoring of the refugee response (where appropriate) 
    • Assist in the compilation/entry of information collected through MEAL activities, as required 
    • Assist in the review and validation of findings and provide feedback for improving the quality of assessment and activities 
    • Liaise with the logistics, admin and procurement teams to ensure the smooth running of activities 
    • Attend coordination meetings, if required 
    • Manage, update, analyze and assess data collected from the field activities, including loading and shops on a regular basis
    • Keep records of daily activities
    • Conduct questionnaires and researches in order to write reports/ articles and improve the understanding of the activity areas and beyond  
    • Participate in appropriate training courses/ workshops and meetings on demand
    • Assist in other project team and office activities and other relevant projects, when necessary
    • Support other team members as well as the Child Protection team, when necessary
    • Assist in office duties, when necessary
    • Perform any other assigned tasks
