Job Summary

    We are looking for a highly motivated individual, graduated from university, who would be interested in joining us for a valuable experience in the Syria Response as Grant Officer.
    The areas to be covered are: FSL, WASH, Shelter and NFI, Early Recovery, Protection, Education, Civil Society, Health.
    The candidate should have previous experience in managing grants, deep understanding of donors’ requirements and fluidity in writing both in English and Arabic.

Position Requirements

    • Minimum Education Degree: Bachelor’s or MA degree
    • Education Major required: Social Science, Project Management, International Development, Economics, Accountancy  
    • Strong communication, writing and reporting skills
    • IT skills ((Microsoft Office, Internet)
    • Proficiency in English and Arabic
    • Previous experience in grant management of projects of minimum 300,000$
    • Knowledge of the Syrian environment and of the NGOs’ sector 
    • Previous experience in an NGO will be highly desirable, but not mandatory
       

Responsibility

    • Ensure Grant/Project compliance to humanitarian, organizational and donor standards.
    • Review and maintain implementation, procurement, and monitoring plans.
    • Manage project team in a manner that encourages cooperation and communication.
    • Establish a good communication channel with the donor and conduct follow up and reporting  meetings.
    • Ensure that all documentation and process match the donor’s compliance requirements.
    • Monitor monthly spending on ongoing & planned activities within the approved budget/s.
    • Review monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and final reports.
    • Engage with sector specialists to ensure project alignment with technical standards and best practice.
    • Coordinate operations under the project with relevant departments.
    • Coordinate operations under the project with other NGOs operating in the area of project.
    • Conduct weekly/monthly meetings with staff.
    • Participate in external coordination if needed.
    • Other tasks assigned by Line Manager.
