Job Summary

    WATAN Foundation in Turkey, together with its partners, is providing humanitarian assistance to people affected by the Syrian crisis, both in Syria and Turkey. 

    The position will be based in Mersin and Izmir, the supervision of the Case Management Officer, the Case Management Assistant will be responsible to implement Case Management cases as per CM/IPA SOP.

Position Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in social science and or relevant area – can be compensated with direct work experience in NGOs for at least between 2-4 years.
    • Excellent English skills, Arabic skills are an asset.
    • Experience with case management protocols.
    • Knowledge of protection and key protection concerns.
    • Team player who can work collaboratively and with people of diverse backgrounds and cross-culturally.
    • Work/voluntary experience with a NGO, minimum 2 years.
    • Experience of community-based, social work or implementing protection activities minimum 1 year.
    • Strong planning, inter-personal and communication skills.
    • Strong report writing and documentation skills.
    • Flexible, enthusiastic and willing to learn from others.
    • good computer skills, especially in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook.

Responsibility

    • Support the Info Hub in Mersin or Izmir to develop coordinated, efficient and measurable protection for Syrian refugees.
    • Properly assess, refer and accompany beneficiaries in need of physical/mental health treatment/support to specialized services.
    • Conduct protection awareness raising sessions under supervision of Case Management Worker.
    • Carry out house visits, provide protection information and contact with person in need.
    • Support volunteers of protection team.
    • Ensure accurate data entry of all cases visited.
    • Review all case assessments with the Case Management Officer.
    • Take part in the committee deciding on SNF assistance for cases.
    • Assist Case Management Officer screening cases on daily basis, decision if it requires deepened assessment, case management plans.
    • Participate in the identification and prioritization of the individual’s case management needs and goals in supervision of Case Management Officer.
    • Gather information to identify and manage barriers to achievement of protection plan goals.
    • Evaluate beneficiary satisfaction through open communication and monitoring tools.
    • Assist Case Management Officer to develop periodic hub-specific protection monitoring bulletins.
    • Regular travel to conduct member visits, provider visits and community-based visits as needed to ensure effective administration of the program.
    • Prepare weekly work plan and organize his/her schedule to complete task in an appropriate manner.
    • Perform any other tasks related to the program when required.
    • Participate in internal meetings.
    • Organize and maintain documents in a paper or electronic filing systems.
    • Perform other duties as may be assigned.
