Job Summary

    Responsible for planning and implementing grant programs from its application to approval and utilization, perform grant research, grant writing, grant program design and implementation, compliance and grant reporting. Lead the fund-raising team in order to make the grant process work effectively and efficiently. Identify potential grant support from EU donors to meet the financial and operational needs of the organization. Provide clear communication of proper rules and regulations for approving grants, its specifications, requirements and objectives across all departments of the organization and the management.

Position Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree on Agronomy, Business Management or International Development.
    • Strong English communication skills (oral and written).
    • Desirable: Good working knowledge of Arabic (oral and written).
    • A minimum of 4-6 years operational humanitarian experience with minimum of 3 years in a leadership role in EU grants management.
    • knowledge of International Human Rights Law, International Humanitarian Law, Refugee Law, the relevant positions of the UN, ICRC and major NGOs on protection of civilians in particular of IDPs, women and children, the codes of conduct, the Humanitarian Charter, The Sphere Project, etc.
    • Strong communication skills with ability to express ideas and concepts clearly and persuasively with senior members of the humanitarian community as well as with field practitioners.

Responsibility

    • Ensure Grant/Project compliance to humanitarian, organizational and EU donor standards.
    • Review and maintain implementation, procurement, and monitoring plans.
    • Manage project team in a manner that encourages cooperation and communication.
    • Establish a good communication channel with the donor and conduct follow up and reporting meetings.
    • Ensure that all documentation and process match the EU compliance requirements.
    • Monitor monthly spending on ongoing & planned activities within the approved budget/s.
    • Make sure all documentation & filing system under assigned project are in order.
    • Review monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and final reports.
    • Participate in identifying partners, and monitor and maintain relationship with partner.
    • Regularly engage with Program/Program Support departments’ staff to ensure uninterrupted information flow in project implementation.
    • Ensure that reporting from the program staff are provided in a timely manner.
    • Establish alternative information sharing systems (regular meetings, shared web-engines, etc.).
    • Engage with sector specialists to ensure project alignment with technical standards and best practice.
    • Coordinate operations under the project with relevant departments.
    • Coordinate operations under the project with other NGOs operating in the area of project.
    • Conduct weekly/monthly meetings with staff.
    • Participate in external coordination if needed.
    • Other tasks assigned by Line Manager.
